FIRE AND SMOKE DO NOT BELONG TOGETHER
In most cases of fire the fatalities result from toxic smoke inhalation. Along with CO and CO2 such dangerous fumes as hydrogen cyanide (HCN), hydrochloric acid (HCl) and chlorine (Cl2) are released during a fire.
Following a table with the analysis of combustion gases released by PyroTex® at 600°C (1,112°F) after 40 minutes:
- Sulfor Dioxide SO2 → not detectable
- Hydrogen Chloride HCl → not detectable
- Hydrogen Bromide HBr → not detectable
- Hydrogen Fluoride HF → not detectable
- Hydrogen Cyanide HCN → not detectable
and even Carbon Monoxide (CO) is only 35ppm.
